YEAR 9 DRAMA

Congratulations to the Year 9 Drama class for their performance of the play ‘Nice Girl’ on Wednesday 5 June. ‘Nice Girl’ is a play about Year 9 girls and the themes resonated strongly with both the cast and audience. It centred on the character of Mia and her journey to overcome peer pressure and low self-esteem, to become more assertive and confident in her world.

The girls not only acted in the play, but also took on roles in production areas of direction, lighting, sound, set design, costumes and properties.  It was wonderful to perform this play in the Auditorium with such excellent resources on hand.  We thank Mr Graham for his work instructing the girls in lighting and sound design.

The performance reflected the learning goals, so important in Drama, such as collaboration, working together for a common goal, problem solving, independent learning and taking a risk.
