Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning

Janine Biggin

It has been wonderful to welcome back our students today, with Years 7, 10 and 11 returning to onsite classes.  The normal sounds of a school have been very good to hear.  While we have some year levels each day, we are really looking forward to when the whole school is back together again.

We have planned for strong learning programs and examinations to conclude the year, and exam timetables for our seniors have been provided to students.  It is our intention with the STEP-UP program to get students into their 2022 year level, so that returning to school next year is as smooth as possible.

Students in Years 10 to 12 for 2022 have received their subject listings.  As was communicated to students throughout the process of subject selection, changes to subjects can only be requested during STEP-UP, in the week beginning 22 November.  Regarding booklists, these are only required for Year 11 and 12 subjects.  Students have been emailed these booklists and it is crucial that students who are undertaking an accelerated VCE unit purchase the resources required for the subject.  As previously communicated, Years 7-10 resources will be supplied directly to the College, and parents will be levied for these items.

The Year 10 notebook computer purchase portal is open, and I take this opportunity to remind everyone that Year 10 students cannot use tablets or ipads as their learning device.

This newsletter includes a page from the Study Skills Handbook, this resource is provided to all our students and I recommend it to our students as they begin the process of revision.
