Student Led Conferences

Come celebrate your child’s learning!

This year’s Student Led Conferences will be taking place on Monday 2nd September. This year all students from Prep to Year 6 will be leading their own conference with their parents and/or caregivers.

The role of the student is to share some of their learning highlights so far this year and the role of the parent/caregiver is to celebrate and enjoy hearing their child talking about their personal journey.

Parents/caregivers will be able to book a time (via Compass – Conference, as of Monday 19th August) before or after school to meet with their child. The conferences should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

The conferences are NOT Parent/Teacher Interviews. All teachers will be present within the learning spaces but are not part of the conference.

Student-Led Conferences

A fantastic opportunity to celebrate the learning journey of your child.

Your role:

1.Listen: Having a parent audience for learning gives

students a powerful reason to learn and work hard.

2. Discuss: Talk with your child about the samples that

are presented. You will gain a better understanding of their academic accomplishments.

3. Celebrate: Praise your child on the progress and

CELEBRATE achievements that they have made.

For Mount View, a student centered approach to learning is a high priority and significant aspect of the IB PYP.
