INTERMEDIATE INTER-SCHOOL SPORT

On Tuesday 2 March, we had teams represent the school in tennis and volleyball at the Intermediate Interschool Sport Competition.  It was an extremely successful day for our Volleyball teams, winning three of the four competition: Girls A, Girls B and Boys B. These results are a fitting reward for the dedication students made to training in the lead-up to this competition.  The Girls A team will now proceed to the next round on Tuesday 30 March.

SENIOR INTER-SCHOOL SPORT

On Tuesday 11 March, we had teams represent the school in tennis and volleyball at the Senior Interschool Sport Competition.  All teams showed fantastic determination across the day, with some very competitive matches.  Well done to all students involved and for the commitment shown to training in the lead-up to the competition.

JUNIOR INTERSCHOOL SPORT

On Friday 26 March, we had teams represent the school in cricket, tennis and volleyball at the Junior Interschool Sport Competition.  We finished second in the cricket and Boys A and B Tennis.  Our Year 7 and 8 Baseball team also advanced to the next round after we were the only school to enter a team.

HOUSE ATHLETICS COMPETITION

On Wednesday 10 March, we held our annual House Athletics Carnival at Duncan McKinnon Reserve.  We had great weather on the day, with all students representing their house with great pride.  This was shown through the effort in track & field and novelty events, the creativity in dressing in house colours and the enthusiastic voice in our house chants.

The results at the conclusion of all events were very close, with Grevillea narrow winners.

Congratulations also to the winners of individual events who will now go on to represent South Oakleigh College at the Division Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 24 August.  The winners of each event can be viewed on our Sports noticeboard.

MONASH DIVISION SWIMMING CARNIVAL

On Thursday 4 March, we had 25 students represent the school in the Monash Division Swimming Carnival.  Our team was very competitive on the day, achieving placings in several events.  A special mention to Hue Fithie (50m freestyle and breaststroke) and Amelia McQuienn (50m backstroke), who won their events.  They have since represented South Oakleigh College at the Region Swimming Carnival, where Hue finished 2nd in both of his events and Amelia 4th in her event.  This is a fantastic achievement by Hue and Amelia.
