Parents & Friends

🏫How nice is it to be back on school grounds? Remember that parents can now attend Junior & Senior Assemblies again too.

🌸Mother’s Day Stall - this year the Mothers Day Stall will be on Thursday the 6th of May for the Echidna & Kangaroo Kindergarten Groups, and Friday the 7th of May for Platypus & Wallaby Groups as well as the whole school.

Kindergarten children will be asked to bring $2 and choose their gift at the stall.

School children will be asked to bring no more than $10 and can choose 1-2 gifts for their special person. Gifts will be priced between $2-$5 each.

All money should be brought in an envelope with your child’s name and class written on it.

On many years we’ve had parents donate an extra $5-$10 at the Office beforehand to pay it forward for families who are struggling. This allows all children to be able to purchase something small and not miss out.

I’ll be contacting parents who have volunteered to help out at the stall to double check you’re still available for Friday. We hope to have the whole school done by the end of recess. And if there are any Dad’s that’d like to volunteer to help on the stall so the Mum’s can have a break, that’d be awesome 😉

🎂 The Cake Raffle is BACK!

Tickets are 20cents each or 6 for $1.

There is a sign up sheet for Cake Raffle volunteers at the Office desk.

The Junior Raffle is held on Wednesdays (at Assembly) and the Senior Raffle is held on Fridays (at Assembly).

Last week’s raffle raised $49.20.

♥️Thank you to the Foundation and Grade 3/4 Parents who came to the Parent Catch Ups this week. It was great to see familiar faces and a few new faces too.

And a big thank you to Jess Walker for helping with the set-up and clean up.

The final Afternoon Tea will be for the Grade 1/2 Parents on Wednesday 12th May at 2:30pm.

🪳Thank you to Mais Sukkar who has stepped up to co-ordinate the Parent Managed Head Lice Program as well as the parents who have volunteered to help with head lice checking.

The Parent Managed Head Lice Program has been very successful in the past, but as the name suggests, we need *parents* to make it work. If you have a current Working With Children’s Check and 1-2 spare mornings a term, please see the Office Staff to add your name to the volunteer list.

🥣 Jess Walker is our fantastic Community Support Representative. She co-ordinates support for school families through an anonymous volunteer community. Your family may be having a challenging time due to job loss, illness, injury, or financial stress. Please know that you can reach out to Jess to let her know what you need - eg. groceries essentials, some snacks for lunchboxes or a few home cooked meals. Jess reaches out to her volunteers who provide what’s needed and both parties stay anonymous to each other.

If you need help, or if you’d like to help, you  can email Jess at:

👍🏻 If you haven’t already, please join the Parents Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mprpsparentsandfriends/

This group was started by Trish Brimelow 6 years ago, and is a great place to stay up to date with school events and connect with fellow parents.
