Senior Candlebark Camp

Congratulations to the senior students for their participation and effort during the camp last week. It was a great experience for the students to move out of their comfort zone and commit to having a go at many activities that were new to them. It was wonderful to witness the growth, resilience and independence of the students during their time at Candlebark Farm – this ranged from team work, trying activities such as the Super Swooper as well as duty groups!!

The weather was challenging at times, but everyone persevered to manage all the programmed activities. The sun finally pierced through on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning!! Additionally, students also participated in the Talent Quest and Disco along with the Movie Night.

Healesville Sanctuary was also a great experience with opportunity to view many of our native birds and animals. The Birds of Prey Show was the highlight of our sanctuary visit with everyone amazed at the skill of such birds. Be sure to ask your children about Kevin the Cockatoo and the flight of the Wedge-tailed Eagle. Amazing!!

I am sure your children have shared many stories and experiences with you about camp upon their return home. These, I am sure you would agree, are treasured memories and friendships that will be remembered for a long time. We encourage that these experiences will hold them in good stead for the remainder of the academic year.

Finally, I would like to thank all the staff who attended camp, for their effort and commitment to ensuring all the students had a safe and enjoyable time. Thank you for leaving your own families to attend the camp with our student leaders.

Please enjoy viewing the many photos of camp.

ANZAC DAY

ANZAC Day will be celebrated during our first week at school in Term 2, with our Year 3 students leading the liturgy for the school on Friday 23rd April 2021.

To commemorate such an important event, we are permitted to sell ANZAC Day badges this year. The cost will be a gold coin donation. The Mini Vinnies will commence selling them on Wednesday and Thursday of this week as well as the first week back in Term 2.

If you would like your child to purchase one, please send along a gold coin.

Thank you for supporting our local RSL Club.

Working in partnership.
