This term we have been looking at why some foods are healthy and why some foods are not. Kiki, Marlee, Charlette, Chace, Thomas and Jordan discovered healthy foods and exercise are healthy because:

  • My body needs fruit and vegetables because they are a good source of vitamins and minerals, including folate, vitamin C and potassium.
  • My body needs breads and cereals because they are a good source of fibre, carbohydrates and proteins. They also help with our digestion.
  • My body needs water to help digest your food and get rid of waste. We also sweat a lot so we need to replace it.
  • My body needs fish and meat because they are a great source of protein and iron. They give us long lasting energy.
  • My body needs exercise because it improves our muscle strength and it helps with your breathing.

 

Paige, Ethan, Harry and Chloe discovered 5 things that are unhealthy for our bodies as they all interfere with how are bodies are meant to work.

  • Salt
  • Caffeine
