Assistant Principal - Curriculum
Significant learning cannot occur without positive relationships - with other students and with teachers. That is the basis for 'Living Well, Learning Well', a student support framework, across the Diocese of Armidale. To date, the relentless focus has been on strong teams achieving meaningful learning in calm classrooms. Term 2 at McCarthy continues this holistic approach to learning, with emphasis on all students understanding what assists their learning and wellbeing and having support to replace unproductive behaviours. Across the school, students will be aware of a consistent approach to supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
NAPLAN occurs this term from May 11 for students in Years 7 and 9 and provides a measure of students' educational outcomes. Schools use this information to shape learning. Mrs Maxworthy will have more detailed information to follow.

I received a letter this week from the International College of Management to inform me that Chloe Perkins (Yr 12 2020) had been awarded the highly esteemed ICMS Professional Scholarship. This is a significant achievement. We congratulate Chloe and wish her continued success in the future.
