Meet our Admin Team

Hi, I’m Joanne Rankin. I was born in Yallourn (which no longer exists!) but grew up here and attended Bairnsdale High School. I have been with the College for almost 11 years and previously worked in HR at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service where I completed a Diploma of Human

Resources. I can still recall my son telling me that I couldn’t work at his school. He soon got over it when he and his friends worked out they could easily arrange sleepovers or try to get money for the canteen!

Our family has 2 very spoilt French bulldogs Henri and Bella. Henri is a real people lover and has been for a school visit last year where he enjoyed 'cleaning up' at lunch time. We love camping and travelling in our caravan (I prefer at least 3 star camping 😆). A couple of highlights have been a 3 month trip north all the way to Cape York and back down the coast of QLD and then Cook Islands, where the people and the tropics were sensational. We are looking forward to going back to ‘the Cooks’ in 2022 (fingers crossed).

Hello my name is Karen Hall and I can be found in the Admin building supporting families and students from the front desk and staff through my role as HR Officer.  I was born in Scotland, brought up in Cambridge England (with my lovely brother who’s now in L.A.), have lived in the Netherlands and now Australia! So sometimes I feel like the whole world is my home.

I went to University in Birmingham UK doing Business and worked for many years in TV for Sony Pictures, Columbia Tri Star and MGM studios, in London and Amsterdam, selling TV shows and movies to TV stations. Although that was fun, I always wanted to work in education and so I’m over the moon to have landed in my ‘dream job’ working at BSC. My husband and son are also at our College and in a few years we’ll be joined by my Grade 5 and Grade 3 daughters, then College will be a home for us all!

One of the loveliest moments at BSC was when a student said "oh Miss you’re the lady that sounds like Mary Poppins on the loud speaker".

I love travelling, boating, yoga, listening to massive books on audible.com and walking with my Moodle dog Sizzles where I live on Raymond Island.

Hi. My name is Gail. I was born in Bairnsdale and have lived in the East Gippsland area all my life. I am one of 4 children and spent many of my early years living on a farm. I started my education at the Tambo Crossing Primary School, then Ensay Primary School,

then Mossiface Primary school (all now closed) and finished my education at the Bairnsdale High School. My first ever job was working in the canteen at the Drive-in in Bairnsdale

In my spare time I like to do Tai Chi. I have a Blue Healer, his name is Jake. (Photo of Jake is when he was a puppy, many years ago.) My family and extended family are very important to me and I love to spend as much time as possible with them.

Hello my name is Kylie. I am fairly new to the school, starting back in December of last year in Finance and Admin at the McKean Street main office.

I grew up in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne and moved to East Gippsland about 12 years ago following family and a tree/sea change. I have 3 daughters, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 11 sheep, a resident Butcher bird and a husband. I am a mad animal lover and have raised, rehabilitated and released injured Magpies and other birds.

My passion is roller skating, which I have done for most of my life. I have been training and playing Roller Derby since 2013 and volunteer as a coach for Gippsland Lakes Roller Derby, teaching recreational learn to skate classes and Roller Derby training in Sale and Bairnsdale. I loving coaching and sharing my love and knowledge of skating with others. Skating keeps me fit, sane and social.

Prior to working at the school I have spent the last 22 years running my own Visual Merchandising business which was originally based in Melbourne. With most of my work still in Melbourne I would commute regularly and in recent years had decided it was time for a change and to settle into work locally, which has lead me here.

The move to the area was the best decision we have made as a family and I’m loving working at the school and getting to know the staff, students and families as well as working in a great community environment.

Hi my name is Kerry Koroismanunu and I work as part of the Finance team.

I am married (my husband is Fijian hence my surname) and we have 2 adult children who were both educated at the College. (One is now working and studying medicine and the other is a Chef and the Publican of a local hotel).

I grew up on a local dairy farm and was educated at the Wy Yung Primary School and the Bairnsdale High School. On leaving school I worked in the Banking Industry, working locally, in Melbourne and overseas. I have also held other administrative and finance roles within the private sector.

I enjoy reading, travelling and have recently received a gift of a metal detector, so am looking forward to future prospecting and finding my 'hand of faith'.

Hi, I'm Kim.  I grew up in a small town in central northern Victoria, Avenel.  I am one of 5 children.  I have an Accounting degree which I obtained from Latrobe University in Bendigo.  I originally applied for Swinburne University in Melbourne, but went to Latrobe in Bendigo as the thought of the city as a country girl was a little scary. After university I ended up in the city working for a fishing tackle company

where I worked my way through the ranks to become their Financial Controller.  After 15 years country life and a career change was calling me.  We chose Bairnsdale and we love it!  I have 2 children that are in Grade 6 (yes, twins!) and a very naughty, fluffy Golden Retriever, Snowy, who is very lucky he is cute.  I love camping, walking and using my SUP (stand up paddleboard). Snowy loves to join me on the SUP, it gets very interesting.

We have a 3 legged cat called Denis or Pussy Milo and a grand fur baby called Ollie who used to live with us and now regularly visits and has sleepovers.

I barrack for Richmond and I have a very old duffle coat with Michael Roach on the back.  Locally I support Bairnsdale Redlegs, along with a group of fellow supports we run the canteen and cook Thursday night teas. I also try to keep fit by doing Parkrun and participate in Gold Class boxing sessions where we have a good laugh as well.

Hi there. I’m Jack. I’ve just started at the College in the Admin office and I’m really happy to have re-joined the school community! I graduated from the College in 2019 and during my time participated in the student leadership program and helped the welfare team set up our school LGBTQIA+ support group. I’ve always enjoyed being part of the school community and I look forward to contributing it once again. (P.S. Thanks so much to all the staff who have given me a warm welcome back.)
