NAPLAN 2021

Thank you to parents of Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students for their support in ensuring their children had all necessary materials for the recent NAPLAN familiarisation tests. They have been very successful and should put us in good stead for the official NAPLAN assessment in Term 2. We did have quite a number of students without headphones for their iPad on the day. While this was not a significant problem for the practice testing, it will be a problem in Term 2. Further measures will be put in place to ensure that every student has their headphones on testing days; further information will be communicated in the coming weeks.

Details about precise dates for each NAPLAN test for each year level will be published early in Term 2. Should you have any concerns regarding NAPLAN, please contact Felicity Donohue at the College or via email at fdonohue@aitkencollege.edu.au. Felicity is doing a wonderful job of co-ordinating NAPLAN testing this year.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you to all parents who “attended” the Parent Teacher Interview evenings appointments this term. The evenings ran quite smoothly, thanks to the patience and goodwill of many, many parents and teachers. It is always difficult to keep strictly to interview schedules when there are so many people involved with such brief meetings. Thank you for your co-operation if things did not run as smoothly as planned. I hope the evenings were helpful for you all in knowing how your child is doing in class and how they are being supported by our teachers. 

Please feel free to contact teachers if you have any questions through the year about your child’s progress, and do not forget to check in every week or so on the assessment details provided via My Aitken to keep up-to-date on assessment tasks and feedback.
