Class/ School Masses

& Sacramental

Program and Dates

Class/ School Masses

Having consulted with Fr Eric, given  COVID  restrictions we will not be having Class or School Masses in the Church, this Term. We will re-evaluate possibilities in Term 3.

We will however continue to have prayer services or Liturgies in the school. Be assured Religious Education continues to have a high profile within classrooms through lessons, prayer and liturgy. Levels may also gather for prayer services.

Sacramental Program

We recognise that in 2020, our Catholic students at SJV were not able to celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation,  First Eucharist and Confirmation.  To this end,  this year, we will be 'catching up' the students who missed making their Sacraments in 2020 as well as those undertaking the Sacraments this year. Of course we will be following COVID restrictions so arrangements may change.

Having met with Fr Eric,  please note the following proposed dates for our 2021 Sacramental Celebrations.

Please put these dates in your diary. They are also on the Community Calendar.

More information will be sent home to you closer to the time.

Booking for Sacraments

Do not book or select a particular date for First Eucharist or Confirmation at this stage. More information will be sent home to you.

We will be following any COVID updates as they come to hand. This may mean changes to arrangements.

Preparation for the Sacrament

The students will undergo preparation in their classes.

In addition to preparation at school, a booklet with instruction will come home for each Sacrament from the Parish.  This will need to be  completed at home  by the child with parents  assisting.
