Cross Country

On the 15 May 2023, some of the Year Three, Four, Five and Six students went to Norton’s Park to participate in cross country. They were put into a certain age group depending on how old they were turning this year and this decided the amount of kilometres that they had to run. The Year Five and Six students had to run 3km and the Year Three and Four students had to run 2km.
On Monday all the students met in the Years 5/6 block and soon hopped on the bus. At Norton’s Park there was a coffee van and it had cookies with lots of yummy chocolate and lollies as well as hot chocolates that were very rewarding after running non-stop. The weather was also nice and warm which helped a lot with running.
The track was two loops of 1.5 km each for the Year Five and Six students and 1km each loop for the Years Three and Four students. The track went downhill at the start and started to go uphill in the middle. It was extremely hilly and hard work.
At the end of all of the races, all schools' students sat down and they announced the winning school. Everyone was very excited when Good Shepherd won the entire day by seven points. It was very tiring but it was all worth it in the end because I got a hot chocolate and a gummy snake!
