Arts Day

This week, students in Years 6-12 will be able to sign up for the Arts Day, ‘Wildest Dreams’ workshop sessions. Students may choose to participate in Music Fest, Theatre Sports Masterclass, or Visual Art Workshops. These sessions are led by industry professionals.

The Theatre Sports Masterclass, will be facilitated by Aimee Duroux, who is a Brisbane-based actor who has credits across film, television and stage. She represented Australia at the World Championships of Performing Arts at 17 where she was awarded a scholarship to study at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. After returning from her New York studies, she earned a Bachelor of Creative Industries from QUT, majoring in Drama. Aimee's career credits include multiple commercials and acclaimed short films, performances at Brisbane Powerhouse, playing Enid in MAT's 2022 touring production of 'Legally Blonde the Musical,' work on Amazon Prime's 'The Wilds' and in 2023, you'll see her in a recurring role on Netflix's 'Boy Swallows Universe.'

Students have continued their Friday sessions with guest choreographers and vocal coaches, which will culminate in a House Competition on Wednesday 31 May.

Parents and Carers are invited to watch from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in the Assembly H

School Musical

Tension is building as we anticipate the reveal of our School Musical for Years 4-9. Our cultural captains are leading a scavenger hunt, complete with clues and prizes, for anyone who guesses the musical before the reveal in Week 5.

Our Cultural Captains, Sofia and Katie, have made this teaser video in anticipation of the big reveal of the musical. Can you guess what the musical might be?

Opus 2 Concert

Communication regarding our upcoming Opus 2 Concert on Thursday 18 May, commencing at 6:00pm has been sent to the relevant ensembles via the College App. This includes arrival times and uniform requirements.

Performance uniforms are required for the following ensembles: Allegria, Big Band, Canzona, Ciao Bella, Paganini Strings, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Viotti Strings and Wind Orchestra. All other groups are to wear the formal School Uniform. Performance uniforms and gold hair ribbons are available at our College Shop.

A volunteer sign-up sheet has been sent out and we encourage parents and carers to become involved as it is a great way to meet other parents and to assist our lovely Friends of Music group.

If you would like to donate any items to our fundraising raffles such as wine, chocolates or gift vouchers, please contact the music department at music@clayfield.qld.edu.au or feel free to drop items to the music office during business hours. Many thanks for your consideration and support.

Green Couch at Opus 2

Our Green Couch was featured front and centre at Opus 1 last Thursday! All volunteer names were entered into the draw to win the VIP Green Couch Experience and the lucky recipients were the Grima family.

We have decided to offer the Opus 2 VIP Green Couch Experience to a lucky mother from our attendance list at the Mother’s Day Breakfast this Friday. The winner will be announced at the breakfast.

College Tours

Thank you to Allegria Chamber Strings for performing at our recent Principal and Head of Primary led tours. We value your time and professional approach to these performance opportunities.
