Year 7 Band Camp

Year 7 band camp is an exciting time for young musicians. It's an opportunity for them to bond with other band members, learn new music, and improve their skills. On Monday 8th of May we set off to the Feathertop Chalet for the 3 day Year 7 Band Camp. Students had time to not only build on their musicianship skills, but to build frienships and connections with the music staff and enjoy some fun time in the pool and well as some much deserved ice cream. Overall we saw a huge improvement in every students playing, what a great start to their musical journeys.

Year 9 Camp

Last week, the Year 9's left for their camp in Portsea. The students participated in activies such as bike riding and high ropes courses. All the students and staff has a great time.

Year 10 Outdoor Ed

On Friday the 19th of May, a group of Year 10 Outdoor Education students dusted off their hiking shoes and stepped foot into Wangaratta’s local National Park: The Warby-Ovens. After quickly convening over the maps at the far western end of Shanley St, our students wound their way up the Salisbury Falls Track with a hop, skip and a jump in their stride. A well-deserved, early luncheon break was observed at Wenham’s Camp, before the group descended Mount Warby via the Alpine Views Track. All students should be commended for their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm on the day. A special thank you to Ms Belci for coming along also.

Inside the Classroom

Mrs Coles’ bunny Cupcake has been visiting English classes this week as part of a free writing activity with Year 7s and 8s. Students have been expanding their adjective and noun vocabularies by describing Cupcake and creating a fictional story about her adventures at Wangaratta High School.

Outside the Classroom - Year 10 Work Experience

Last week, many of the year 10's headed out into the workforce to test their knowledge and learn new skills in their area of interest.

The year 10's greatly enjoyed their experience, learning what it is like to work hard and work within a team of other colleagues. This opportunity gave the Year 10's the chance to decide if they would like to pursue a career in their chosen interest or try something different.

Pictured below are three of our Year 10 students out on Work Experience.
