School Photos

You will note our new whole school photo above! School Photos are in the final stages of completion, they're currently being printed and should arrive within the next 2 weeks. We'll keep all families updated as soon as they hit our desks. (If it looks likes the 2023 photo has more students than the 2022 photo, it's because it has! Between 2022 and 2023 we have had an extra 17 students enrol and by the start of Term 3, that number will be up to 20!)

Assembly

Each Monday morning at 8:50am we hold our school assembly. This is currently taking place in the multi-purpose room due to the weather, however when things warm up once more, we'll be moving it outside to the flagpoles.

We love that our families are once again able to return to our school assembly. Our assembly is a very important part of our week. It is an opportunity to proactively reinforce our school culture and expectations through the acknowledgement and celebration of our students and school. If your student has won a weekly Value award you will be specially invited to join us at assembly, however you are most welcome to join each and every Monday.

The Resilience Project

Each week our students are participating in The Resilience Project to provide practical wellbeing strategies to build resilience. This week’s presentation from The Resilience Project focuses on Gratitude.

Gratitude is paying attention to the things that we have right now, and not worrying about what we don’t have. We practise this by noticing the positives that exist around us. Research shows that practicing gratitude rewires our brains to overcome the negativity bias (which can lead to anxiety and depression) and see the world for what we are thankful for. It is also shown to broaden thinking and increase physical health through improved sleep and attitude to exercise.

There are many ways in which you can practise gratitude, including starting a gratitude journal. You can simply use a notebook to list three things that went well for you each day, or use a more comprehensive Wellbeing Journal, like those created by The Resilience Project.

School Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPBS)

SWPBS is a framework that bring together school communities to develop positive, safe, supportive learning cultures. SWPBS assists us to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for children and young people. As part of this, we have recently developed and discussed with our students our new Behaviour Flowchart, this gives students an indication of the processes our staff will take with disruptive behaviour and to ensure consistency across the school.

At times when students do not meet our behaviour expectations, a Behaviour Reflection Sheet will be completed with the student, reflecting on this particular behaviour. Part of this process, is the student will be required to have a discussion with their family around their behaviour and have it signed off by a family member.

Before and After School Care
