Foundation and Year 1/2 

Yesterday we celebrated Family Day and welcomed all our beautiful families into our classrooms. It was so special to see families participating in activities together and enjoying a shared lunch. The Foundation students said that they wished Family Day could happen everyday!

Here is what our Year 1/2 students had to say about their families…

Lance:  I like going to Sea World with my family.

Mia: My family is special because me and my sister are unique. My family likes to celebrate Christmas. 

Raffaela: My family likes going to the shops. My dad likes to watch T.V. My mum likes to go to the shops. My sister likes to buy teddies. 

Rayzon: My family likes to celebrate our birthdays together. 

Tazlyn: My family likes to play Snakes and Ladders, the Toaster game and Monkey Hang. 

Jessica: Me and my family like ice-cream and watching movies. 

Luke: My family likes unwrapping presents at Christmas time and when it’s a birthday. We like when family gets to come over for Christmas and birthdays. 

Sharlotte: My mum and my dad always go to the beach with me and my brother. 

William: I love my family. My family loves Time Zone. 

Joseph: My family likes to go to the beach and play in the waves.

Connor: My family likes to eat hot chips and chicken and Northland pizza together.

Billie: Me and my family like to watch movies together. 

Ava: My family likes to cuddle and have fun together. 

Lawrence: My family like to celebrate birthdays. 

Jazlyn: My family always hug me and give me a lot of chocolate. My family draw with me. My brother and mum are lucky because they both have their birthdays soon. 

Kaiden: We go to the park and I see swans in the river. 

Hanny: We like to go to Northland, eat sushi and shop at Kmart. 

Aylah: My family likes to watch movies. 

Madelyn: My family likes to watch movies and go to Sea World. We get out the couch bed when it’s movie night.

Suzanna: I love that we go on special holidays together. 

Year 2/3

What a great day it was celebrating 'Family Day' at Sacred Heart yesterday! Here are some of what the student in the 2/3 classroom thought about it all.

Yesterday was Family Day. We had lots of fun. We decorated a leaf with our family name and after we finished doing our family name on the leaf, we had played some fun games like UNO, Pick Up Sticks and Monkeys in a Barrel. I did not know that my mum was coming for lunch. I was surprised. For lunch my little brother and me had a bagel that dad had bought for us. We also had a great Assembly and I really liked when Foundation and year 1/2 sang. Chloe D. 

Yesterday daddy came to school in the Multi Purpose Room to see me and Aylah. Austin

Yesterday was a fantastic day. Our school celebrated Family Day. My mum came and me and my sister did activities together in her classroom. We ate lunch together and we went to Assembly. Every class presented something special about family. Yesterday was a great day! Laura

On Family Day we had lunch together in the classroom and it was the best. We did activities with our mum and we sang 'Wherever I Go' at Assembly. Raffaele. 

Yesterday was really fun because we got to see our parents in our classroom. We were so excited to see them. Samantha

It was a great yesterday because I got to show my grandparents where everything is in my classroom. They are here in Australia from Singapore for a few months. I got to play Snakes and Ladders with my grandad. We ate lunch together and I was very excited. Arvin

WOW, Family Day was the best day ever. I liked it when I decorated the leave with my dad. I had lunch with my dad and we colored another sheet together. I sang 'Wherever I Go' at Assembly. I think Thursday was the best day at school. Olivia

Family Day was about love and caring. I had no parents with me but I did the leaf all by myself. I drew my family on the leaf. I played UNO with my friends and went to the Multi Purpose Room and saw students perform. Katalina

Yesterday was a fantastic day because it was Family Day at Sacred Heart. My mum got me Mc Donalds for lunch. Me and my mum and sister Yianna were coloring in out leaf together. We put our names and our favorite colors on it.  We listened to Yianna's class performance in her classroom. Georgia

Yesterday we did some things with our family. We colored the worksheet and the leaf. We ate together. Benjermen

We had Family Day yesterday and it was a fun day. My dad came and helped me color in my leaf. After when it was lunch time, he gave me Mc Donalds to eat. I really enjoyed myself and it was really nice seeing my friend's parents. Tristan

I loved Family Day because all my family came to school, even my little sister Sloan. I showed my parents around the whole classroom. With my mum and dad, we all played outside during lunch time. We had a special Assembly and my mum and dad were really proud of how I showed what I had written on the poster about family. Chole B.

Yesterday I played games with my dad. We put our last name on a leaf and we decorated it. We had an Assembly and we sang a song called 'Wherever I Go' about our families. It was a great day and I had lots of fun with my grandpa, grandma and mum and dad. Cody

I loved, loved, loved Family Day! We decorated a lead with my family name on it. We listened to a class performance, played games and had lunch together. I want to have another Family Day next year.  Eva

Yesterday was the best day ever! I decorated a leaf with my family name on it with my sister Sharlotte. My mum came at lunch time with some tasty dumplings and noodles for us to eat. They tasted so delicious. Later on, we had a special whole school Assembly. We sang 'Wherever I Go' which is a special song about families. Shamus

Yesterday we sang 'Wherever I Go' and played some games with our families. We had lunch and also we did some coloring sheets. We celebrated Family Day with our family. Amy

Me and my class decorated leaves that we put our family names on. We drew our family on the leaf as well. Then we colored the leaf in. I was really happy even though my family didn't come to school. After we played games like Uno and a stick game.  Emma

Year 3/4               

It was exciting for our families to visit Sacred Heart and it was fun showing my family around. Nirav

Family day was extremely fantastic because many families were here. It was nice having a chat with different families. Veer 

It was great how my grandma, mum and brother came to family day because we had fun showing them the school outside and working together on our leaf. Brenton

I had a really good time with my brother and my mum, doing the activities. I enjoyed reading my poem at assembly. Aleisha

I really enjoyed family day even though my family weren’t there because I could play with my friends and their families welcomed me. Gail

Year 5/6  

Interschool Sport

The mighty Sacred Heart soccer team is off to a flier, with a winning streak of three wins in a row. And as this newsletter goes to press, the team is playing against Preston West to stay on top of the ladder. 

After a forfeit in Round 1, the team beat Holy Name 9-3, with Zane scoring 5 goals for his team! Last week the team went ballistic, scoring a massive 17 goals to 0. 

Family Day

A most fabulous day was had yesterday by all who attended Family Day. To all the parents, grandparents and guardians who came along, a big thankyou from the senior students. And to Kate for all her work in organising the event, thanks also.
