Transition Sessions
Dear Parents,
May I extend a very warm welcome to you in joining our Armadale Primary School community with your family. Entering a new learning environment can be exciting and different to what you have experienced, so we aspire to ensure that your child’s transition from kindergarten to primary school is a smooth and enjoyable one. We have intentionally designed our transition sessions for you and your child to be a gentle introduction to learning at school. Our forthcoming transition sessions for the children and yourselves are listed below:
Session 1 Wednesday 18th October 9.30am – 10.30am
Session 2 Wednesday 1st November 9.30am – 10.30am
Session 3 Wednesday 15 November 9.30am – 10.30am
Session 4 Friday 8 December 9.30am – 10.30am (Meet the Teacher)
These sessions build on each other and children required to attend each session.
During these sessions your child will participate in various learning activities which provide the opportunity for our Prep team to develop a relationship and bond with your child and help the teachers discover your child’s strengths. Whilst your child is participating in each transition session, parents are invited to stay for interactive workshops which will be held in the Multipurpose Centre. This will cover many topics including the following:
- Partnering with you on this exciting learning journey, learn more about the school, its programs and information about how to prepare your child for the first day of school.
- Supporting you to help with learning at home
- Social and emotional learning and school readiness
- School uniform - where to get this?
- What is taught in the Prep Curriculum and how do we teach it?
- What does our school pedagogical model look like?
- How do we cater for each child’s point of need?
- Wellbeing at Armadale sits alongside learning and growth
