RIJI – Help required

Our Year 10 students are participating in Inner Northern local Learning and Employment Networks (INLLEN) Real Industry Job Interview (RIJI) program this year. RIJI is a work readiness program that assists students in developing good job search, resume writing and interviewing skills. The program is delivered as part of a school’s curriculum throughout a series of guided lesson plans and concludes in a face-to-face interview with a local volunteer interviewer during a RIJI event.

The RIJI program is a real community effort and would not be possible without the participation of schools, service providers and local employers. We are seeking volunteer interviewers for the Mock Interview events and would love some families and friends from our local schools and communities to get involved.

The mock-interviews will take place on the following dates:

Darebin Schools:

17th / 19th of October

Darebin Arts Centre

If you would like further information on the RIJI program or would like to volunteer at our mock interview events, please contact RIJI Coordinator Janelle Barnard on jbarnard@inllen.org.au.

Primary Colours Art School in Westgarth

Primary Colours is a new Art School offering space, time, and resources, to all of its students. Located in the Westgarth shopping strip, Primary Colours is student focussed and offers flexibility within the program. The school takes an Inquiry approach to learning. This means the students are able to investigate Art at their own pace, follow their own interests, with expert guidance and technical support. The teacher will assist them at their point of need.

This method is especially beneficial to secondary students that may wish to pursue personal interests in Art, or work towards completing school Art projects. Primary Colours offers two and a half hour sessions for secondary students to give them the time needed to complete their work properly.

Primary Colours Art School is taking bookings now for Term Three. Check the website for  timetable, bookings, and other information.
