Welcome New Staff

We are lucky to have a number of new staff join us at the mid-point in the year, with a great breadth of experience from teaching and beyond. Please enjoy these short introductions and say hello when you see them around.

Anthony Hindle

Hello, I'm Mr. Hindle. I'm a new English teacher at Northcote. I have previously worked at a few schools around Melbourne, with my longest experience being 6 years at Koonung Secondary, teaching Year 7s all the way through school until they graduated in Year 12. I have studied at both Monash University and Melbourne University.

In my spare time I love books and reading, all things history or film related, and anything to do with bicycles and bushwalking.

Megan O'Neill

Hello everyone! My name is Megan and I am teaching English and Humanities here at Northcote. I am from London, England. I left my job December 2022 to go travelling and move across the world. After a short back packing trip across Southeast Asia (staying in hostels is not my forte), I moved to the lovely city of Melbourne in April 2023.

I was teaching History and Geography in London, and my middle leader role was Literacy Coordinator. One of my responsibilities as Literacy Coordinator was sending out a weekly ‘Word of the week’. In honour of that, my ‘Word of the week’ this week is ‘sanguine’ (adjective). It means: ‘cheerfully optimistic or positive, especially in a difficult situation’.

Despite the challenges of moving and starting work in a new country, I remain sanguine about the future. The Northcote Highschool community have been so warm and welcoming, and I am enjoying my time here immensely.

Aisha Ali

Hello I'm Aisha and I am the new Business Manager. I have been a Business Manager for approximately 6 years in 2 schools and have worked in a number of schools since 2011, in admin and finance.

Prior to working in schools, I was bringing up my 2 children whilst travelling the world. I was born and bred in the UK, and before having children I pursued a career in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily in clinical trials.

I love gardening, reading and catching up with friends, whether it is over coffee, lunch or going on long walks. Before living in Melbourne and I was not a coffee drinker, now I'm  a coffee snob, so I consider myself to be a true Melburnian! Looking forward to working with you all at NHS.
