Triple j Unearthed High finalist

Lotte Barnett is another talented Year 11 musician, who has been named as one of five finalists in the coveted Triple J competition, Unearthed High, that searches for the best high school-aged emerging acts, Australia-wide.

Lotte has been singing since she was very young, and started learning double bass at Northcote before picking up the guitar with teacher Simeon Latomanski and hasn't looked back. Now studying VCE Music, Lotte reflected that guitar ensemble and support from performing and visual arts teachers, Cindy Frost and Christine Martin, have played a big role in her growing confidence as a songwriter and performer.

After listening to triple j and following the Unearthed High competition 'for ever', Lotte submitted her entry 'Adam' this year. Citing some of her influences as Radiohead and Billie Eilish, Lotte's own music is now getting played on national radio, an experience she described as 'unreal'.

Congratulations on this awesome achievement Lotte!
