From the Principal

Welcome back to Term 4, I hope that families had a rejuvenating break, and that students took the time to reflect and are now ready for our final Term of the year. I particularly enjoy Term 4, not just because the summer break is approaching but because we get the opportunity to see the growth in learning that has occurred in a year that has gone far too quickly. Our students will be submitting final pieces of work, performing pieces that seemed complicated earlier in the year, and celebrating their achievements.

Please note the end of year dates published in this issue, to assist with planning for the weeks ahead. As soon as our students have completed their final work and received feedback, we will share with them their courses for next year and many of the year levels will be undertaking orientation for their next year of learning.

We have two student free days this Term;

  • Monday 31 October.
    This is a day for staff to take the Time in Lieu for hours worked on during Semester 1 and 2 for the evening PTS Conversations
  • Thursday 17 November.
    This is a Professional Practice Day (PPD) for staff and will be taken on a common day during Term 4. These days allow staff members to undertake work of their choice such as; curriculum planning, assessment and reporting or professional learning.

DET continue to update the COVIDSafe arrangements in schools and we will inform you of how the changes to isolation periods are going to be implemented in schools via Compass as soon as they are released from DET to schools. Although we continue to have low numbers of cases in our school community, we are aware that there are still staff and students that test positive and are unable to attend school.

I hope to see you at one of our end of year celebrations or events,

Chris Jones

Principal
