YEAR 9 ELECTION

POLITICAL PARTIES

As part of a Year 7 to 9 Humanities focus on Civics this term, each Year 9 Humanities class formed a political party.  They were required to create their own state-based policies and plan and advertise their campaign.

This required students to use their team work and organisational skills to win the votes of the Years 7s, 8s and teachers.

The final campaigning culminated in a lunchtime event on Tuesday 8 November complete with a democracy sausage sizzle and a very official voting centre, which was expertly managed by our 9A SEAL class.

The votes have been counted, using the preferential voting system, and the winning party will be announced this week.

I would like to congratulate all Year 9 students and their teachers for their hard work and enthusiasm with this task.
