Art Making & Exhibiting : NGV Excursion

Enjoying the NGV Triennial and Wurrdha Marra collection

A fabulous group of Year 11 AM&E students took a trip into town to view two inspiring collections of artworks from local and international artists, in order to prepare for their first Sac. They gathered around the David Shrigley sculpture at the NGV international entrance and semi-willingly gave their teacher the ‘thumbs up’ pose for this article.

The day went swimmingly well, with students discovering an eclectic range of artworks across many mediums and art forms, sparking curiosity and ideas for their own art practice. For the Sac, students are required to present information for an exhibition, selecting three artworks by three different artists, all Australian with at least one of them being a First Nations or Torres Strait Islander artist.
