Youth Leadership Academy Conference

Inspiring young people be change makers

Last week some representatives from the NHS student leadership team went to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the 2024 Youth Leadership Academy Conference. They were joined by over 1500 other secondary school students from across the state.

The conference was insightful, inspiring and has motivated our student leaders to think deeply about what contemporary leadership looks like. It included guest speakers such as Trent Dennis-Lane, who spoke about his experience as a professional Australian rules footballer and how it has shaped his leadership style today.  He spoke about the steps young people could take to be bold and brave and make change.

The hosts of the event were fantastic and enthusiastic the whole day, encouraging everyone to introduce themselves to new people. The Founder of the event and organisation Wil Massara explained his journey that lead him to starting  Youth Leadership Australia. The day was thought provoking and was an amazing conference to attend.
