Celebrating International Women's Day

Last week was all about gathering, awesome vibe and laughter! Firstly, a HUGE thank you to our International Student Captains and Sharon for rocking International Women's Day! Let’s take a moment to appreciate their dedication in organizing the first IS event.

“Before the day arrived, we set up elaborate posters about it. We had a variety of beautiful flowers for the girls in the International Student Center, each with their own name and an inspirational quote that we had prepared especially for the girls. Every girl was very surprised and happy at lunchtime. We also gave some of the flowers to the female teachers in the school. Hope they had a very wonderful Women's Day too!”

“I participated in the preparation activities for the festival - helping teachers make the brooch needed for the day. As an international student, I can feel the importance the school attaches to the festival. I think this is a good thing. On the day of the activity, the students were surprised by this! And actively find flowers with their own name labels for friends. The whole international student center is haunted with a cheerful and positive atmosphere.”

“The International Women Day had been one of the most memorable day for all of the international students, I saw many smiles from the female students holding their roses with their name on. Thanks to the amazing idea of Fiona - who put a lot of effort into the event too. I hope that in the future we can have more and more fantastic events for the International Students Centre”

“On the first day, our preparation for Women's Day began with the creation of posters. Our teammate, Fiona, had already provided us with the quotes. Once school ended that day, we diligently wrote each girl's name on dockets and paired them with appropriate quotes.

Moving on to the second day, our teachers acquired flowers which we then carefully attached to the dockets. These adorned dockets were then placed outside in buckets, organized so that each student could easily find her name and corresponding flower.

With an abundance of leftover flowers, we made a thoughtful decision to gift these extras to our wonderful teachers. Without the assistance and collaboration of Miss Joo-hee and Zoe, bringing all of this together would not have been possible. Their support was integral to our success in organizing this event for Women's Day.”

International women’s day is a significant occasion that provides on opportunity to recognize the achievements and contribution of women worldwide. We were all excited planning for the event. Giving roses to internation female students, doing poster…all to encourage and support women, inspiring them to make more positive changes. This was a great experience for me and the captain team, and we look forward for the future events.”
