Year 7 Baseball

Northern Metropolitan Year 7 Baseball

After having the Term 1 tournament washed out we competed again on Thursday 5 October. In our first game against Macleod we had our bases loaded but our 7th batter was questionably run out on first base. We lost a close game 1-3. Our second game was against Diamond Valley. We were very  competitive but again were beaten. In our third game against Richmond we made sure every student got to bat and 5 new students tried out pitching. This didn’t give us much chance of winning but was good experience for everyone in the team. Everyone finished the day happy and keen to keep playing on their own when the 3-game competition finished. Hopefully some of our inexperienced students will now consider joining a community Baseball team. It was great despite not winning on the day to see our students so enthusiastic and determined to improve their skills and keep learning the finer rules of Baseball.

Athletic Hurdles

Due to wet weather on our Regional Athletics Day,  the Hurdles and the High Jump were deemed too dangerous, so were postponed to Tuesday this week.  Jacob Hebden was due to compete but unfortunately was injured.  Wolfgang Curry had a seemless race coming in first, progressing him through to the State Athletics next week.  Equally seemless was Leo Pepe coming in a close second in a fast-paced race.  Congratulations boys and thanks to Leo’s mum and Wolfgang’s grandad for their support.
