Victorian Schools Volleyball

Year 7 Bronze medalists

Fantastic teamwork in action

Over the last few days of November, 60 NHS students from our volleyball program travelled to MSAC to compete in the 4 Day Junior Open Tournament. Every student demonstrated excellent teamwork and a fantastic sporting attitude over the course of the competition.

Each team completed duties for the matches of other schools, including head refereeing, second refereeing, line refereeing and scoring. The staff who attended the tournament were so impressed with the level of care and professionalism that NHS students displayed when completing a duty for another school.

A significant improvement in skill and an increase in confidence was highlighted throughout the tournament. It was great to watch the students supporting one another with high fives and words of encouragement with each win or loss. Congratulations to our Year 7 teams who walked away with a silver medal and a bronze medal!

Thank you to the amazing student coaches for supporting and looking after their teams throughout the tournament. A BIG thank you to Pauline Dridan, Lou Tait, Kurt Strachan, Craig Price, Jonny Koureskas for attending the tournament, assisting with coaching and supervising the students along with driving the buses. We could not have participated in this tournament without you!
