Welcome to Term 1

Congratulations to all the students who have secured a place in our Instrumental Music program for 2024.  Lessons have commenced and the PAC is already abuzz with the sound of music.

Instrument Hire

If you have received confirmation that your child is able to hire a school instrument, please make sure that hire fees are paid by Wednesday 28 February, to allow instruments to be borrowed out through the school Library borrowing system. 

 

Payment can be made through Compass Events. Payment Plans are available by contacting the Main Office.

Bands and Ensembles

LHS Band rehearsals have commenced for our more advanced students. Rehearsals are held in the PAC Band Room every Monday lunchtime with Ms Baird and Mr Coles. 

LHS Choir has also re-commenced with a meeting held on Tuesday for all interested students. If you would like to be a member of the choir and you didn’t make the meeting, please see Ms Goode in the PAC staffroom. 

 

Junior Stage Band for beginning students along with Guitar and Percussion Ensembles will commence in Term 2.

NEVR Youth Concert 

 ‘Sonic Canvas’

Applications for this year’s regional concert are now open and students of all ability levels are invited to apply. 

 

The concert will be held at Hamer Hall on Wednesday 29 May, at 7 pm.

Interested in Studying Music at ​University?

'University Music Studies: Ask Us Anything' is a free and fully-online event, designed for music students in Years 10 -12 wanting to learn more about what tertiary music study involves – in a relaxed, comfortable setting.

 

Through this event, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with 12 current and former music students of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (The University of Melbourne).  Students can attend one or both events.

 

Event 1: Tuesday 12 March, 7:00 pm 

Event 2: Thursday 14 March, 7:00 pm

'University Music Studies: Ask Us Anything'

 

Lilydale High’s Got Talent

Applications are open to any student or group of students who have a special or secret talent. 

 

Some talent ideas include; dance, juggling, comedy, magic, hula hooping, lip syncing, puppetry, bike tricks, cheer leading, ball tricks, circus, martial arts, Maths, beatboxing, miming and more!

 

Lilydale High's Got Talent will be held during Week 8 of this term, so hip hop and get training!

Music Staff

Welcome back to our fabulous Instrumental Music teachers; Matt Tzivakis (guitar), Emma Jury (piano and voice), Mrs Ventura (woodwind), Ms Lisa Baird (brass) and Mr Paul Coles (percussion). 

 

This year, Miss Lie is also going to be helping out, so please speak to her with any instrumental queries if you can’t find Ms Goode. 

 

We look forward to a creative and music-filled year.
