PRIDE WEEK

Monday 16 May to Friday 20 May

Time to Celebrate

Tuesday 17 May is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). To celebrate, we’re planning a week of celebrations.

On Tuesday, the Year 12 VCAL class is running Wacky Accessories Day to raise money for Autism Spectrum Australia foundation.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the SRC and Stand Out Group will be screening the film, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (PG) in the Theatre during lunchtime.

Based on a true story, it introduces us to Sheffield teenager Jamie New (Max Harwood), who is openly gay and comfortably camp at school but has a secret he’s nervous about revealing – that he wants to become a professional drag queen.

On Friday, we’ll be having a Pride Celebration during lunchtime: pizza for sale by the slice, cold drinks and lollies. Student-made handicrafts and rainbow merchandise will be available too, so make sure you bring along plenty of cash.

There will also be musical and theatrical performances from our talented students. All proceeds will go to Minus18, an Australian charity that champions LGBTQIA+ youth.
