Year 8 NGV Excursion

Wurrdha Marra at the Ian Potter Gallery

8C ventured into the city last week to be amongst the first students to visit the new Wurrdha Marra exhibition at the Ian Potter Gallery. Wurrdha Marra, meaning 'Many Mobs' in the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung language, is a collection of works by emerging artists and senior First Nations figures. This was a chance for students to see works up close and engage with the scale and meaning of the artworks.  Students enjoyed exploring the exhibition and made sketches of works that they found inspiring to discuss back in the classroom.
