Year 9 Morrisby interviews

Last week we conducted over 250 interviews with Year 9 students to unpack and discuss their Morrisby assessment. Up to 8 careers consultants were on site each day, and interviews ranged from 25 -50 minutes, depending on student questions/engagement. 

The interview provided students with an in-depth understanding of the results – including aptitudes, working style, priorities and study interests. Students were shown how they can continue to utilise the Morrisby platform over coming years to research careers, update their preferences and study plans and record their aspirations. 

Well done to all students who participated in this very valuable program. I encourage students to continue to use the Morrisby platform and resources as they move through their senior years. 

Year 10 RIJI Program

Congratulations to the Year 10 students who successfully completed the Real Industry Job Interview (RIJI) program last week. Over the past semester students have had the opportunity to apply for a ‘job’, prepare a resume and letter of application and prepare for an interview. Those students who completed the preparatory work had an interview scheduled with an employer last week, which was held at Darebin Arts Centre. 

A huge thanks to Josh Melican, Cathy Lester and the Year 10 Connect team for their hard work in rolling this program out. Thank you also to the Inner North Local Learning and Employment Network for overseeing the program.

Most importantly, thanks to all the local employers (a number who are parents of our school community) for giving up your time during the working week to interview our students and guide them in building this important life skill. 

Transition support for Class of 2023

Support is available for students as they transition into their plans for 2024 and beyond.

Students can make an appointment to discuss their plans anytime, including after they have completed exams.
