RECONCILIATION WEEK

 Be A Voice for Generations

Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June) celebrates First Nations People and is a time for all Australians to show their support for reconciliation.

This year the LHS SRC and Student Leadership team were proud to plan and lead a range of activities with the highlight being the Celebration Day on Wednesday 31st May.  The school community were encouraged to wear a splash of yellow and make a gold coin donation.

Woolworths Chirnside Park generously supported the event by donating sausages, bread and soft drinks.

The students and teachers involved ran a sausage sizzle, did face painting and sold wattleseed shortbread and muffins in the school’s Indigenous Garden. The day was a blast, and it was a huge success!

Together, the school raised a total of $522 for Children's Ground - a charity for indigenous children. It was a great day, and everyone enjoyed it.

Thank you to the SRC for all your work to organise it, to Woolworths for kindly donating what we needed, and to the staff and students for your support!
